Sunday morning, rain is falling...

worst part about moving to our glorious new home...PACKING! ugh, i hate packing, although we have hired movers to pack up, move and set up our furniture-we are moving all of personal stuff. which unfortunately for me means a lot of clothes, shoes, pictures, and holiday stuff. since it has rained all day we decided to attack the attic and organize jeff's military stuff, our plethora of wires (who knew being a wireless home you needed so many wires?) my gift wrapping stuff and holiday stuff. not looking forward to taking pictures off the wall and repairing the holes, hopefully i will be asked not to help in that area =)

however, yesterday we had fun making one of our favorite recipes-oprah's mar-a-lago turkey burgers. yum! if you haven't had them before you have to make them, like now! they take a while to make but zoo worth it. we tend to cut the recipe in half and still have enough to make 6 burgers. click here for the recipe.

i also checked out another blog today and found this site, ideeli, check it out and sign up if you like to shop and who doesn't! you may have heard of it before, i have not, therefor i checked it out and thought i would add it. happy shopping all!

DIY...

i have been itching to do some projects lately but like an addict weening myself away from DIY drugs (ha!) i am waiting until we get moved into the new house before starting any new "projects" in order to keep my husband's sanity. so my only way to keep my thoughts in order and remember what i actually want to do are to blog about them. so here are some ideas i have...

for the 3rd bedroom i would love to make a headboard, something like this would be too cute! found all of these (of course) on pinterest.

i also found this really cool chevron board w/ hooks. how cute would this be to hold your jacket, keys and what nots as you are coming and going out the door--love!

i also found these lovelies and who doesn't love a wreath? it is becoming more and more popular to hang them in your house instead of just on your front door (although i still love a beautiful front door decoration). these are so cute and it does't look too hard to make, check out the directions.

on another note, i know my last post(s) were kind of down and gloomy ~my apologies~ it seems everyone has been in a rut this past week. any who, i am out and won't let "the man" get me down, pinky promise. i have found some great music to listen to and a book to read ~thank the lord~ if you haven't heard these before check them out.

john legend "stay with you"
christina perri "arms"
kenny chesney "you and tequila"

i would link them on here but i'm running late for work, sorry my friends!
now i have 2 questions for you: what are your favorite diy projects and what are you listening to right now?

happy tuesday!
Monday again!

I had a very relaxing weekend and hope everyone else did as well! We lounged at the pool for a bit, did some shopping and had date night! I have to admit, I am not ready for the work week to start yet; can't I have 1 more day, please!
On another note, we went to see the progress on our home and actually took my camera this time! Here are some pics of the progress!

Ok ladies, off to work I go, this week we get flooring (tile and hardwoods) and hardi-plank on the exterior--weather permitting. Happy Monday!

At a loss...

Ok ladies, I need your help! I absolutely L-O-V-E to read, yet I cannot find anything to occupy my time. I have a kindle so I try to find things that are "e-readable". I read anything from romance, thriller, biography, history and politics, , fiction/nonfiction. You name it- if it sounds interesting I'll read it! Here are some recent reads of mine: there is an urgency (a friend of mine wrote this-great book!) the hunger games trilogy, the help, my sisters promise, the lincoln lawyer, heaven is for real, decision points, emily griffin books and water for elephants. HELP please. I am on day 2 of nothing to read and I am having withdrawals! HA! I know, sounds stupid, right? I can't help it, I always have a stack of books (or in my case a list of e-books) to read. Please send me suggestions of good books.

On another note...has this week been rough on anyone else or just me? I am normally one not to complain but ouch! I cannot wait for tomorrow at 5pm! I have to say SIMPLY NAKED CHARDONNAY has kept me sane this week! Love it! It's been a rough week at work. This may not mean anything to anyone else out there but a national competitor of mine just won the Humana bid-meaning they will get priority business over everyone else in the DME/HME world (my business=HUGE stress and loss of business for everyone else). So I have had many meetings and conversations with MD's trying to sort this out. I tell ya insurance is a pain in my bum!

Now that my mind is clear of that! Tomorrow is Friday! YAY! Can't wait for the weekend! My house is coming along--interior paint is in and cabinets are in. Doesn't sound like much but in new construction that is huge! I am SO excited to move in and cannot believe I haven't taken more pics for you all. Don't worry though, soon enough you will see. I promise to get my camera out there.

So, don't forget...let me know what you are reading or recommend reading to help with my withdrawals. Please and thank you!

Coral Obsession, much? YES!

I must admit I am slightly obsessed with coral, especially during the summer months. I have everything from earrings, necklaces, shoes, dresses, belts, dresses, you name it I've got it! However, when I cam across these beauties, I couldn't help but drooling and whining like a little girl who didn't get her sucker at the doctor's office! Ha! What a sight, I know! I might need professional help, but I can't help myself.

Here are the wonderful things I found this morning compliments of fabulous Pinterest!

Yes please and thank you!

I could definitely get some use out of this dress (even though I have one quite similar from Gianni Bini)

Def a piece you could use with more colors!

Love these for the house...

Loving this suit-any skin tone can pull this color off!

What are your favorite/go to colors of the summer season? Ok enough dreaming today, Happy Tuesday all, talk to you all on Hump day!

Manic Monday? Oh no, not me!

Although I did work my butt off today and my piggies hurt like crazy! I tell ya, roaming around in the NC heat from hospital to hospital, doctors office to doctors office takes a toll on your feet (especially when you are wearing super high stilettos just to make you as tall as every one around you!)

Back to business, I came home to a husband cooking kung pao chicken and a glass of wine for me =) I sooo love him! P.S. my husband can cook like no other, just another reason he rocks my world! AND I received this top in the mail that I have been waiting for from Lulu's...

Love it!

I also picked up this Diane von Furstenburg dress in purple! How chic, you can pair with silver or gold accents and high strappy shoes or wear in fall/winter with boots! Heaven!

Hope everyone else had a wonderful Monday!

It's my kind of Saturday...

my day started with me waking at a ridiculous 5am (i know right?!?) so i hit the gym then hit the pool with my kindle--truly one of the best investments i have--currently reading my sister's promise--pretty good read! ah so relaxing! then the most amazing thing in the world happened...no i wasn't eavesdropping on an ever so juicy conversation on the 2 college going girls near me--although that was pretty good...

my husband called and said he was coming home in couple of hours!!! yay, he deploys a lot and i usually don't find out until the day before he comes home but the call i got on friday went along these lines "they are delayed and we will call you later with further details" needless to say, when jeff called i was out of the pool in a jiffy!

we also went to our friends house for a cookout, they live in a fabulous community on 7 lakes, a beach, hiking trails and all kinds of stuff. so after the cookout, the husbands took the 4 wheelers out on trails while us girls talked about accents wall colors and diy projects. so excited they finally were stationed here! good times will be had for the next few years with the Langley's! Here are some things we talked for her new house...

living room accent color sort of...

soooo love this and trying it out! thanks to asubtlerevelry.com for the directions!

happy weekend all!
