I love this look! I've had this aztec skirt for over a year and wasn't quite sure if I could pull off this look or if it was more suitable for a younger lady. I wore this to one of my best friend's 40th birthday celebration (she was obviously a little worried about turning the big 4-0, hence the face below) to dinner and bar hopping.

I'm back!

So I took a bit of a hiatus the latter part of the year to go through some personal things but I am back and better than ever. I have decided to rededicate the blog as my personal fashion "logbook" if you will. It's what I'm good at and it doesn't take too much time to do (which is great for me right now).

Humpday!

It's finally here! Wednesday around my parts mean after work drinks at Hickory Tavern (1/2 price wine by the glass AND bottle). Needless to say my gal pals and I partake in this every week!

Fair warning-this post will be somewhat of useless ramblings...

I got my November Birchbox yesterday! It was amazing, as usual Only thing different this time, was I didn't immediately open it, I waited for the neighbor to come over and we opened it together (lame you say?) Oh no, you see my neighbor, E, doesn't get Birchbox and was curious about it so I texted her to walk on over and see for herself how awesome it is! This month I got green nail polish, teeth whitening, chocolate chipotle candy, perfume and lip gloss.

In other news, I feel like everyone is posting about their new favorite tv shows this fall so here are mine:

Of course I still watch Grey's, How I Met your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Boardwalk Empire and of course none other than Rachel Zoe! I know a lot of people are into Revenge and Pan Am-well this girl is not-not my glass of merlot.

On my last not so important note: I am totally suffering from seasonal allergies! I have never had them before moving to NC-must be all the pines-and this totally sucks! I cannot breathe through my nose and have an almost constant sneeze, ugh! Hopefully it gets better soon, I have too much to do to be worrying about this. Anyone else having this problem right now?

What to say about Tuesday...

Except that it isn't Monday anymore and we are almost to Humpday! Thank the good Lord!

Not too much going on here, Saturday night I hosted a Scentsy party at my house for some of my best girlfriends / neighbors. Scentsy is my absolute favorite candle company! The hors d'oeurves consisted of warmed Hawaiian bread with spicy spinach artichoke dip, homemade jalapeño salsa, homemade pepper jelly (to be paired with cream cheese and Carr's crackers), lil sausages and mini eclairs. Of course an assortment of fine red wines for these fine ladies.

And all served on my favorite chalkboard dishes!

Note to self: take more pictures so i don't have to use lame internet ones as replicas.

Well hello again!

Sorry I have been MIA from blog world for over a month! Crazy, I know! I swear I have been zoo busy. We moved in to our house (see below for pics-I know I need to hang more stuff, soon I promise), we entertained my sister and brother-in-law, my brother-in-law and his wife, my in-laws, and all in different weeks. The hubs also deployed to Afghanistan (insert sad face). But the neighborhood hosted an awesome closing of the pool party where I met almost everyone. I'm sure I am missing all kinds of things to update you guys on, it will come to me slowly, but for now enjoy these pics!

It's my birthday!

So today I become another year older, another year wiser and another year closer to 30! Yikes! I never thought I would be the type to be affected by a number but as it creeps up on me, I have to admit I am totally affected!!!

Interesting fact about my birthday...my brother and I are the same age for 8 days every year, confused yet? His birthday is Aug 21 (he turned 27) and mine is Aug 29 (I turned 28). So every year if you ask us between Aug 21 and Aug 29 how old we are, we are the same age but are not twins!

My sweetie took me to the lovely Ironwood Cafe in Southern Pines Sat night for my birthday and of course it was amazing. They give you the most delicious birthday treat... ice cream cupcake!

On other news, we are pretty much moved in. the only things left are hanging curtains and the office. Thank the lord! More to come later. Happy monday all! I think I'll hit the pool today and relax before heading back to work tomorrow!

Moving week is upon me!

we are doing our final walk through on Tuesday and closing/moving in on Friday and i am way too excited for words! of course this all means that the hubs and i have been packing away our clothes/shoes/pictures/etc. and he actually counted my shoes-i have 66 pair which i don't think is too bad but he sees it differently.

we have also patched and painted all the holes in the walls and put together a nice little box to take to goodwill.

fyi-if you have decals on your walls like i did, they come off easily but you can still see what was there afterwards, so you will need to paint over it! bummer, i know!
